Save the last dance for me by Pierre Mikaïloff
French writter Pierre Mikaïloff wrote this novel about hifiklub next album ... in french!
Quelque chose me paraît cependant anormal.

###
Blast Article Pop melodies and rock tourneries are proposed on this album. "French Accent" is enthralling, like a No wave boomerang which would burst the heads of our « frenchitude ». Because, yes, the members of Hifiklub are french, but as they have "too much class for the neighbourhood" they moved to New York. While Johnny Hallyday, "the prodigal son", returns to the country of the frankaouis (french), some musicians will breathe inspiration elsewhere. Earl Slick, guitarist of Bowie and Lennon, produced "french accent", where we also find collaborators of Chic, Fisherspooner. that is a mouth full isen't it?
Having been recorded in an old night club the trios album as the aura of ghost visiting over their last night drinking.
These young French men have reinvent themselves: New wave Version 2008. With class and attitude, they side with electronic, from pop to contemporary sounds, ah, the James White Sax.. However, nothing retro here, this album is resolutely modern and fortifying, plugged in the world of art (video, literature, graphic designers) and the vibrations of
megalopolis. No concerns, our guys of Hifiklub, did not forget to make us dance.
Jean-Emmanuel Dubois wrote this article about Hifiklub first album for Blast Magazine.

where's Dias ? part. 1, a photo session by Léopold the title of this photo session could be "where's Diad part 1?". ok, no Dias in those pics, but Paulo Furtado is with us. the session happened at our place in Valette du Var when Paulo was recording his parts in June 2006. Léopold Trouillas arrives at the end of the afternoon and decides to shoot near the only sources of light (the bottom of a swimming pool!) of this old abondoned discotheque. those pics represent only one part of the session; the others are not developed yet, but we are hoping Léo will let us see them some day.

NY sessions eat well, that's important for a french guy abroad what's the best kind of food in the city? where can we find the best meal in the city? what will there be at the airport when we arrive? nothing special
when you arrive at the front of the warwick hotel, what do you see? some hot dogs stands, sometimes kebabs
look there are some wraps, not bad the thing is to have a local contact who knows the stop right away, earl says "italian, is that ok for you guys"?so, in the direction of little italy.
Italian streamers and flags, just like in a Sopranos, this is it! a restaurant like any other, with paintings of a doubtful taste, but earl is certain is someone gonna speak with his hands about Zidane and the world cup?
the menus were incomprehensible, but it was the best pasta in the world. earl was right!
###
NY sessions #2 it is a day before the beggining of mixing. 8PM, bleecker street. which club should we start with?
lonely planet doesn't know shit! we don't understand a thing with this book! well, they say we can meet Iggy at the Continental. let's go there, we'll see ... lol
here we go! bands playing tonight "like everyday boys, we have 3 or 4 live bands"
you sure that's all? ... lol
looking at all the photos, it feels like everyone has played here shit, it looks like that's Lemmy in this photo, but without his beard
ok we've seen the Continental, now on to CBGB's 6 blocks from here the spot, two weeks before the final closing of the place, it will be more about History and atmosphere than musical emotions tonight
Eddy is here, without Jane and Robert. Direction Arlene Grocery;

NY sessions #3 Clubhouse Studio, Rhinebeck, one hour and a half from the city. Change of scenery. pleasant suburbs in the country - "ok, we're at the train station" "hi guys, we're workin on "Dee Dee" right now, somebody will pick you up" the studio is installed in an old farm. shit, what are we listening to here? it sounds like "Dee Dee", lol
but what is this kick drum sound, it sounds like a bazzooka. It is a little bit unexpected but it is great. objective: two songs a day. we work from 10 to 2; lunch (sandwich) break; myspace; we work from 3 to 8; we listen over and over again to the songs, then go out to bars.
first, beers at Rhinecliff before whisky at Tivoli. A small bite then a big one
###
The Hifiklub Theory From the beginning, hifiklub (trio composed by Laugier, Benito and Morcillo) has been open to external collaborations, with inviting musicians as well as artists or graphic designers, whose work has had an unquestionable influence on the band.
the first volume of our project, that we announce today under the name of "French Accent", has been co-produced by the band and Earl Slick (guitarist for David Bowie, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Ian Hunter, etc.).
we have recorded it with the participations of Earl Slick, Paulo Furtado (a.k.a. The Legendary Tigerman and member of Wraygunn), Robert Aaron (David Bowie, Fischerspooner, Chic, Wyclef Jean, Mick Jagger, Blondie or James White to name a few), Michael Beckett (Schneider TM, The Beautiful New Born Children, Kpt Michigan, etc.) and Evil Eddy Jo/ Plain Jane from New York band Lone Vein. The ten songs have been mixed at the Clubhouse studio in NYC by Earl Slick with Paul Antonell in august 2006.
